Country singer's drummer involved in serious accident in Kentucky

The drummer for country music singer Kellie Pickler and the band The Beagles suffered serious injuries as a result of a car accident on Saturday. Gregg Lohman was traveling on I-65 in Kentucky around 11:30 a.m. when the wreck occurred.

Pickler's manager, Larry Fitzgerald, said Gregg Lohman suffered serious injuries in the wreck Saturday.

State troopers have said a collision between a tractor-trailer and an SUV headed north started a fire that slowed traffic on both sides of the interstate Saturday. Troopers have said the wrecks on the southbound lane were likely caused by people slowing to look at the initial crash.

Six people from rural Wisconsin were killed when the tractor-trailer rear-ended their vehicle. Two foster children survived and were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As of Sunday afternoon, Lohman remained in serious, but stable condition at the University of Louisville Hospital. Pickler was not involved, but issued a statement on Sunday:

"Yesterday, my drummer Gregg Lohman was in a horrific car accident and is currently in ICU. Gregg is not just my drummer, he is family. I believe in miracles and the power of prayer, so it would mean the world to me, my band, and Gregg’s family if you would please keep him in your prayers. Thank y’all so much."
