Country singer Mindy McCready has been found dead, according to an E!online.com report on Feb 17.
A source close to the country singer tells the website the 37-year-old mother was found in Herber Springs, Ark.
Just weeks ago, McCready’s boyfriend record producer David Wilson died at the age of 34 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
In a sad turn of events McCready’s two children Zander, six, and Zayne, nine months, were removed from her Herber Springs, Ark. home by authorities.
At the time, a source told E! "Mindy needs to get help and we all care and love her and we want her to get the right help so she can move on. She is in a bad state right now, depressed and unhappy. It is not good."
McCready reportedly entered an in-patient treatment program to help her cope with Wilson’s death following a downward spiral and having her children taken away.
In court documents obtained by the website, McCready’s father said, "Since boyfriend (David Wilson) shot himself she has been in bed for 3 wks." He continued, "Sleeps all day. Drinks all night and is taking Rx drugs. Not bathing or even helping take care of her 2 children."
A source told E! McCready was “in a better state of mind” after starting treatment. In a recent interview, the singer talked about the effects of Wilson’s death on her, "I have never gone through anything this painful," she said. "He didn't just touch my heart, he touched my soul. He was my soulmate."
McCready had a history of substance use issues. She broke onto the country music scene in 1996 with her hit single “Guys Do It All The Time."
