A big country singer is expecting twins, and her fans are thrilled. Chely Wright has shared that she and her wife, Lauren Blitzer-Wright, are expecting identical twins that are due in July. Huffington Post shared the news on Jan. 23.
Chely Wright is carrying the babies, and she says she feels blessed and lucky. As fans know, Wright struggled with the process of coming out while being in the country music industry, but she says it's brought freedom to her. Chely married her wife Lauren in August 2011.
One look at Wright's Twitter page shows that the singer expecting twins is quite over the moon, as she's been sharing all of the great messages she's received since the news broke. The two made the announcement on the YouTube series Gwissues with Howard Bragman. Wright notes that she is prepared that the babies may come a month or so early, which is so common in the case of twins.
