After working with the pop dream team known as Max Martin, Shellback and Savan Kotecha-- responsible for pop hits by Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Pink and Justin Bieber-- the girls chose to revisit their upbringing and draw closer to their country roots.
"We are happy that we can share this next step with our fans and everyone that watched us grow up on Youtube," the duo said in a press release. "With everything we have been through in the last couple months, we wanted some place that felt safe to create. Country music feels like home and Nashville was our safe haven."
Megan & Liz have over 250 million YouTube views and over one million social subscribers, and that following propelled Simple Life into the top five on iTunes Country Album charts. The duo's first single "Simple Life," received rave reviews from websites like Pop Dust, who stated, "The pop ballad is everything we could hope and ask for." Additionally, the Ryan Seacrest premiere of their current single "New At This", was well-received by their fans and the music world. Even with the change in their sound, Megan & Liz show they are not just your generic country/pop singers, they have raw and awakening talent that they want to share with the world.
As Just Jared Jr. (JJJ) reported, "Megan and Liz‘s EP is full of soothing sounds and lyrics that actually mean something."
Simple Life is available on iTunes and all digital retailers.
