Country music's Carrie Underwood goes rock at Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam

On Saturday, February 4th, CMT Crossroads renewed the ACM musical pairing of Carrie Underwood with Steven Tyler at the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam.  Fans at the Indianapolis Fairground were treated to two powerhouse voices belting out some very well known hits.  A duet by Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler of Carrie Underwood's Before He Cheats, and a medley of Carrie Underwood's Just A Dream interchanged with Steven Tyler's Dream On, wowed the crowd.

St. Louis country music fans who watch Charter Cable channel 40 might have caught the show on CMT.  Those who did may have felt just a tiny swell of pride over Carrie Underwood's performance.  Though Carrie Underwood is from Oklahoma, there is just something about knowing that American Idol discovered her in St. Louis, that makes St. Louisans feel more connected to her.

Lynn G. from St. Louis said, "I've always thought it was cool that Carrie Underwood auditioned right here in St. Louis.  It's so cool to know she was kind of standing on 'our ground' when she got her first big break."

Brittany T. of St. Louis said, "It [Carrie Underwood being discovered in St. Louis] always makes me feel like when she comes here, she'll give it her best, you know, like St. Louis is special to her."

Carrie Underwood has sold millions of albums and won over 100 awards including the ACM Entertainer of the Year award.  Just when you didn't think she could do any more, Carrie Underwood kicked it up a notch, proving that she could even hold her own against the legendary Aerosmith rocker.

Carrie Underwood not only matched Steven Tyler note for powerful note, but she proved that she could take her own songs, shake off the well known country sound and give them a rock edge.   The ability to do so shows the range of Carrie Underwood's talent all the more.   When she took the stage with Steven Tyler, she wasn't a country artist, she was just an artist.

With so many accolades in her short career, it would seem that Carrie Underwood has done it all.  However, Carrie Underwood continues to find new stars to reach for and then goes after them with all her might.   Her ever expanding career is exciting to watch and her performance with Steven Tyler is sure to leave fans wondering what she'll accomplish next.

St. Louis fans who missed the CMT Crossroads special can see the re-airing of the show on February 11th at 9:00 a.m. Central Time on Charter channel 40.  You can also watch the Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler performances on Tasteofcountry.com.
