Country Music Legend George Strait to Perform at STAPLES Center for Final Time

Country music icon George Strait will be coming to STAPLES Center on Saturday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. for the second leg of his final two-year tour, The Cowboy Rides Away Tour.

American country vocalist George Strait has sold over 70 million albums in the U.S. and garnered a total of 60 number-one hits including “Give It Away”, “I Saw God Today” and “Amarillo by Morning.” His 2008 album, Troubadour, gave Strait his first GRAMMY Award for Best Country Album. Strait currently holds the record for the most platinum or multi-platinum certifications from the RIAA in country music and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006.

In 2012, Strait announced his retirement from touring meaning that The Cowboy Rides Away Tour will signify as his last. For the second leg of The Cowboy Rides Away Tour, Strait announced the much anticipated final 26 cities he will visit on tour including a show at STAPLES Center.

Joining Strait on stage will be special guest, Martina McBride, who is a four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year winner. During the first leg of the tour in 2013, McBride was a special guest for all 20 shows, singing breathtaking duets with Strait including Johnny Cash and June Carter’s, “Jackson.”
