Country music had its biggest night as country stars converged at The 49th annual Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday, April 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan co-hosted the event.

Country music veteran George Strait and singer Miranda Lambert led the list of winners at the awards show. There were several high-powered performances, including Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, Eric Church and Keith Urban, who sang their hits.

Strait, 61, won the night's top prize of Entertainer of the Year. Jason Aldean won Male Vocalist of the Year and Miranda Lambert took home Female Vocalist of the Year.

Merle Haggard was honored with a special tribute from George Strait and Miranda Lambert in a year that marks the singer's 50th year in country music. Lambert and Strait performed "I'm A Lonesome Fugitive" and "Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down" in a tribute medley to Haggard, the recipient of the Crystal Milestone Award and one of the architects of the Bakersfield sound.

When Haggard was given the Crystal Milestone accolade honoring his career on his 77th birthday on Sunday, the audience sang "Happy Birthday" to him.
