On Saturday, February 11, 2012, Whitney Houston was found dead in a hotel room in Beverly Hills. A publicist for the multi-Grammy-award-winning singer reported that Whitney Houston had been found by her bodyguard and though resuscitation was attempted, the efforts were futile.
The news of Whitney Houston's death at the young age of 48, comes as a shock to music fans everywhere. Whitney Houston will forever be known for her powerhouse voice on songs such as Saving All My Love For You, The Greatest Love of All, One Moment In Time and the classic ballad, I Will Always Love You, which was written by country music legend, Dolly Parton.
Though Whitney Houston was primarily considered a pop or R&B singer, her beautiful voice inspired artists across all genres of music. At the news of her death, country music artists were among those who took to Facebook and Twitter to express their sympathy and memories of Whitney Houston.
