Country group Parmalee tops country charts with new single 'Carolina'

Country group Parmalee have a major reason to celebrate. On Dec. 12, it was revealed that their latest radio single, the ballad "Carolina" reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts, as well as on the Country Aircheck charts.

The country band is made up of Matt Thomas on lead vocals and guitar, Scott Thomas on drums, Josh McSwain on guitar and backing vocals, as well as bassist Barry Knox. Their hometown is North Carolina.

Their newest CD "Feels Like Carolina" that was released this week, via their label Stoney Creek Records, has been well-received by some of the biggest outlets, including the online news publication Digital Journal.

Parmalee is performing tonight at New York City's Beacon Theatre, as part of Nash FM 94.7's "Nash Bash," where they will be opening for country mega-star Dierks Bentley.
