Country-gospel legend Glen Campbell fighting Alzheimer's disease

Country music and gospel music legend Glen Campbell has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Throughout his long career Campbell has had country, gospel, and pop hits including songs like Gentle on My Mind," "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "Oh Happy Day," and "Rhinestone Cowboy."
 
According to NNDB.com, Glen Campbell is a born-again Christian. He grew up singing in the church choir in Delight, Arkansas. In the 1960s and 70s Campbell was known for his clean-cut, Christian lifestyle as well as his musical talent. He recently returned to his gospel roots and  recorded three Christian albums for New Haven Records. Campell has won three Dove Awards -- in 1986 for Album by a Secular Artist for No More Night; in 1992 for Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for "Where Shadows Never Fall;" and in 2000 for Country Album of the Year for "A Glen Campbell Christmas."

Campbell will put out his final album, "Ghost on the Canvas" this summer. Campbell is no stranger to Nashville where his country roots often brought him, including a concert with Jimmy Webb and the Nashville Symphony in September of 2009. He is featured on The Grand Ole Opry Classic Collection – Duets album available at at all Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Grand Ole Opry retail locations.
