“Lean on Me” by American singer-songwriter Bill Withers started off the night as they took the stage. As Lean on Me faded out, the band filled in kicking off the show with a fan and my personal favorite, “Sullivan Street.” Lead singer, Adam Duritz remained upstage throughout the nearly 2 minute intro but gave it his all for the rest of the night.
The 1990s band can still draw a large crowd of fans. The cutest was a little girl sitting on top of daddy’s shoulders shimmying to the music. A couple parents near the back of the large audience had a baby in a pram stroller. My guess it was a fun filled afternoon and extended night out for the newborns’ parents. A day filled by surf and turf horse racing, betting, wide brimmed hats, and a nice night of music.
