If you've been monitoring the video games section of Kickstarter at all over the past month or so, chances are you've heard of Counterplay Games' Duelyst. Described as "a tactical turn-based strategy game with ranked competitive play for PC, Mac, and the web," the title is being developed by a team of veterans that worked on titles such as Diablo III, Rogue Legacy, and the Ratchet & Clank series. Today, the team released the first ever gameplay footage of the game in action.

"Here's a first (of many) gameplay videos with a full 1v1 match playthrough," reads the latest development update. "For readability, we're playing both sides to properly highlight some of the Lyonar Kingdom and Songhai Empire Battle Units and Spells."

With five days remaining in the Kickstarter, the title is sitting at more than $40,000 ahead of its 68,000 goal.

Counterplay also received notice that the title was officially Greenlit on Steam today.
