A would-be counterfeiter was arrested in Wisconsin after making some very foolish mistakes. The criminal purchased a printer from Walmart to apparently start-up his counterfeiting career, but bringing it back for a refund was his first mistake, according to Fox News live on Tuesday, March 19, 2013.
Jarad S. Carr, a 37-year-old man, walked into Walmart with his broken printer in tow. He was refused a refund because he didn't have the sales receipt. This was his first mistake. He insisted that the store employee look at his machine closely so they can see how it just stopped working. This was his second mistake because there was a fake printed $100 bill stuck inside.
His third and final mistake was refusing to leave the store, so the police were called. The law enforcement officers saw the 100 dollar bill and his new counterfeiting gig was in ruins. This wasn't enough trouble for the man, who some might say is not the sharpest tool in the shed after all these mistakes, he also resisted arrest.
According to Deceptology on Tuesday, not only didn't the man have his receipt, but the printer tray was missing. Police also found additional $100 bills on Carr and he had warrants out for his arrest to top it all. At one point, when he wouldn't take “no” for an answer when the employee's refused him a refund, he tried to negotiate a half-price buy back from the store. The man really didn't read up on what it takes to be a successful counterfeiter!
