‘Countdown to the Oscars’ gives ABC viewers a backstage pass to Academy Awards

Going to be watching Countdown to the Oscars? There are only a few days left before the Academy Awards will be giving out some of the biggest honors in Hollywood. With fans around the country getting ready for the big day there is plenty of tidbits of information that gives a glimpse of the Hollywood action. According to USA Today on Thursday, the show will also have a salute to wounded veterans that's tied to the 20th anniversary of the Forrest Gump movie.

The special is anchored by Robin Roberts and Josh Elliott and is offering viewers a backstage pass to the Academy Awards, featuring interviews with this year’s nominees, rarely seen footage of the nominated stars before they were famous. The history behind the popular award show once again offers viewers a chance to see some of the most famous individuals in Hollywood’s history.

The two stars who sit down for an interview and talk about their nominations, Jonah Hill and Lupita Nyong’o will definitely relay their excitement of being nominated. Offering the insight of what it is like to be a nominee and how they plan to be part of the ceremony, whether they win or lose, it will be interesting to get an idea of the process that happens for someone who attends the Oscars.

Countdown to the Oscars airs Thursday, February 27, 8 pm ET on ABC.
