The countdown to the NYC Marathon is on. Lots of runners from the area will be participating in this year’s race to be held on Sunday, November 2, 2014.
One of them is Michael Zurawski of Toms River, New Jersey. He along with his wife Tricia, her sister Jill Moore and a friend Erin Booth also of Toms River and another friend Tara Amabile of Bel Air, Maryland will all be running to raise funds for Team Kidney and the National Kidney Foundation.
Michael and Tricia have been training together and plan to start and cross the finish line together.
A friend of theirs receives dialysis three nights a week, after working a full time day job and it is a struggle and hardship on him and his family. He is young and should be enjoying his family. His only solution is a kidney transplant.
The National Kidney Foundation is the leading organization in the U.S. dedicated to the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney disease for hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals, millions of patients and their families, and tens of millions of Americans at risk.
Then group has a goal of raising $2,500.00 for the cause and are well on their way. They do hope they can exceed that goal. To help support their effort visit their fund raising page. All donations large or small will be appreciated by the group.
