Statistically we know that those resolutions rarely hold up, but it still seems like an important Rite of Passage to go ahead and set forth those good intentions.
So all those diet plans, spending more time with the family, less driven at work, nicer to co-workers and neighbors.
Then there are the multitude of promises we make ourselves like that we will get that room redecorated, that book written and published, that trip to the Orient.
Then there is the relinquishing of bad habits and commitments to quitting this and stopping that, all in good faith.
We are going to exercise more, eat better, drink carrot celery juice daily. Buy a juicer, be more generous, share more, give more, find charities that need us and donate, go to Africa and do volunteer work... so many good causes, so worthy of our time and attention.
Our World is a World full of needs. We do need to find our place in it. Life needs to have a higher purpose if it's a life worth living. Everyone needs to find their place in the this World, but we are all going to have a greater chance at success if we don't take on too much and make too many unrealistic promises to yourself.
It's important to self reflect this time of year, as it is any time of years really, daily actually we should check in and make sure we are on track with our goals.
So make worthy, reachable goals, and remember daily why they are important to you. Stay with the ones that matter and reap the benefits of them! You are worth it.
