John Green has made a mark on the world with his beautiful prose and delightfully original characters. His fifth novel, The Fault in Our Stars, has been adapted into the feature film that is starting the summer as a big hit. He stopped by NBC's TODAY with the film's stars, Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley.

While they were at the set, the author and actors from The Fault in Our Stars were treated to a surprise as part of a behind-the-scenes tradition. You see, when celebrities stop by the show, the hosts ask them to leave a question behind for future guests to answer in an Orange Room fishbowl. Green was delighted to receive a question that Olivia Newton-John left back when she was a guest of the show in April 2014 as part of the promotional tour for her Las Vegas Summer Nights concert.

It took a few months for the question to find a recipient, and it looks like it found just the right celebrities who also happen to be big fans of Olivia! Shailene couldn't suppress her smile, and she and Elgort asked Olivia's name as a rhetorical question to express their glee. Green was so surprised and thrilled to have a question posed to him by the iconic singer that he had to verify that it was actually the famous Olivia who had left behind the question.

Olivia's question read, "What would you be, if not what you are now?"

While Green replied that he would actually choose to be Olivia Newton-John herself, Shailene admitted that she would want to be a mermaid. With the acclaim that she is receiving for The Fault in Our Stars, Shailene may be on her way to finding the success as a film star that Olivia herself has enjoyed as the star of the biggest movie musical of all time, Grease.
