The Sport Fishing & Boating Partnership Council has slated a public teleconference for Monday, Feb. 11 for an hour starting at 3:30 p.m. EST. The council will vote on what it will recommend to the Fish & Wildlife Service for the FY 13 Boating Infrastructure Grant Program. Other business may also come up.
The program gives grants to states to build, renovate and maintain docking for boats 26 feet or longer. Read about it at wsfrprograms.fws.gov/Subpages/GrantPrograms/BIG/BIG.htm.
The 18-member council was formed in 1993 to advise the Interior Department about recreational fishing, boating and aquatic resource conservation. Read about the council at http://www.fws.gov/sfbpc/.
The public is welcome to listen in, submit comments or questions for the council to consider at the teleconference or address the council live. But to do any of the above, you must register by Thursday, Jan. 31.
The council plans to allot up to 15 minutes to public speakers, with no individual or group getting more than two minutes. (People can expand upon their comments in writing.)
