Attock—Difa-e-Pakistan Council leadership on Thursday strongly opposed opposes resumption of NATO supplies and vowed to resist the move while considering it a humiliation for the Pakistani people and nation.
The Difa-e-Pakistan Council’s leaders including its Chairman Samiul Haq, Maulana Muhammad Mohawia Azam, Maulana Ameer Hamza, Maulana Faizur Rehman Khalil, Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Tahari, Maulana Aslam Shiekhupuri, Maulana Sultan Mehmood Zia, Maulana Abdul Salam and Hafiz Muhammad Saddique while addressing a crowded public gathering at Liaqut Ali Khan hockey stadium said that restorationof supply to the US-led NATO forces in Afghanistan would prove that USA is using Pakistan as a tool in its game of power politics .
They said the International SecurityAssistance Forces (Isaf) had deliberately attacked the Salala post on November 26, killing 24 Pakistani soldiers. “Now how the supplyto the NATO forces would be allowed by the governmentthrough airspace,” they complained.
The Difa-e-Pakistan criticizes the United States and India with equal passion.
It demanded that Pakistan should refuse to reopen supply routes for NATO forces in Afghanistan and oppose the infidels.
They aimed to stage a “sit-in” protest at Islamabad on Feb 20, 2012 against the drone attacks and for closure of the supplies to NATO on a permanent basis.
“The popular sentiment in Pakistan is opposed to America. The average Pakistani hates the United States with a purple passion. The Difa-e-Pakistan group generally think NATO and the US is the enemy and they openly embrace the ideology of terrorism and extremism. This place is a breeding ground of hate. It is a disease that is spreading fast throughout the entire country. Why the US maintains diplomatic relations with Pakistan is a total mystery to me…” says Gabriel Mohammed of Islamabad, Pakistan.
“This group Difa-e-Pakistan is as anti American as they get”, says Timothy Udall of Charlotte, a counter terrorism expert who advises private individuals committed to the fight against al-Qaida and Haqqani network...
“I can’t imagine a more anti American group of Muslim fanatics on the planet”, says George White of Charlotte, who monitors the group’s websites and has compiled a list of 2000 members and affiliates of that group. It would be advisable if the CIA would monitor this group”, he said.
The CIA refused to reply to emails asking if they are monitoring this anti American group and if they are aware of the group’s effort to undercut critical NATO supply shipments through the country.
