The Carlsbad police on Thursday are asking for help locating two missing Carlsbad teens. One Carlsbad teen is missing after a brutal fight she had with a high school classmate was caught on video, and another Carlsbad teen is missing and may be heading to Los Angeles.
Baileigh Karam, 14, from Carlsbad has been missing since January 11 after she was in a brutal fight with another teen over a boy. The whole event ended up on Facebook after other teens, witnessing the fight, videotaped it with their phones and posted it.
School officials were aware of the situation between Baileigh and the other unnamed teen and talked to both girls about the alleged threats, but the tension resulted into a fight on Friday.
"A girl and her boyfriend had broken up and Baileigh and the other boy started liking each other and had a connection, and the other girl clearly didn't like that. Then the threats started coming," Karen Karam, Baileigh's mother told KFMB news.
The other teen that is missing is Brennan Guerrero, 15. He was last seen in Carlsbad on January 12. The police state he is believed to be in the company of a female and may be traveling to Los Angeles.
Karam said she believes her daughter may be with another teen, whether that other teen is Brennan Guerrero is unknown at this point.
"I hope my daughter knows that we just want her back home, under any circumstance, always come back home. You are so missed, so, so, so loved. We are all falling apart without her," said Karen.
