We think you're near Los Angeles

Could this be your Cinderella story?

In today’s edition of Springfield Organic Spa and Beauty the spotlight falls on one of what I would deem, the most beautiful pieces of art work in Springfield… right here in our own back yard.

On our journey to discovering organic beauty from the inside out, let us take a momentary detour, as you will, to celebrate one of the most beautiful, and yes, romantic Holidays, Valentine’s Day!

Love is in the air, and I for one think it is a sad shame that our grass is not luscious green; our rose gardens are not in full bloom: and the sun is not shining and warming our skin at a moderate 70 something degrees.   At this time, when we are celebrating the joy of love and romance, we seek beauty and fulfillment in other ways.

For generations roses, jewels, candy, floral arrangements, and many different assortments of wines and spirits, have been given, to show that special someone just how much we really care.  A romantic, candlelight dinner in some tucked away and hidden favorite nook, is also one of the many ways for us to celebrate our love in all its glory and splendor.

Since this articles focus is on spa and beauty, I would like to suggest to you, the reader, a way to think outside of the box,  break out of the rut of blasé and ritual, and instead, this year, do something new, adventurous, and invigorating.

Floral arrangements wilt and fade away, a distant yet beautiful memory.  Ahhh…and candy is so sweet and divine…but as the age old adage says, “A moment on the lips, leads to a lifetime on the hips!”  We have just celebrated the birth of the New Year 2012.  Many of us, as well as our loved ones, have made resolutions to get in shape and lose weight.  As well, many of us are doing very well with these New Year’s Resolutions.   So imagine, having lost 10 or 15 lbs., and being handed a box full of luscious, delectable chocolates.  Pringles coined the phrase, “Once you pop, you can’t stop,” but dare I say, as mine and I am sure many of you, our weakness for chocolate is known almost infamously.  Why, one succulent Cherry Cordial or deliciously creamy Turtle would set most of us into a ravenous eating binge, thus ruining the progress we have made thus far.

So, how about this year I give you some suggestions and ideas to try that will not only surprise and delight your significant other, but will, instead of undermining their willpower and hard work, you will be rewarding them for their success and truly showing them you care and support them, all at the same time.  Try one of these suggestions and see if the light of your life, soul mate to your soul, will not laude you to their friends for years to come, making them green with envy, and him or her glow with pride and even more renewed love for your sensitivity and creativeness.

Right here, in Springfield we have the John Q. Hammons University Plaza Center.  With locations of his near famous Hotels, Motels, Spa’s and Ranches, there is one centrally located for everyone in the United States.  Majestic and elegant, dressed in regal splendor, with its glassed in and light surrounded elevators whisking you to your destination, to the lush potted palms, trees, and waterfalls built in strategic places throughout this magnificent structure.  It is opulence and refined elegance, all rolled up into one.

Every amenity that you could want is available when you glide through John Q. Hammons softly slide open doors.  You are transported to the world of luxury and culture.  From Staterooms to Bridal Suites, from Tropical heated indoor swimming pool, to fine dining at its most succulent, John Q. Hammons has all you and your significant other could ever want for that romantic night or weekend, and some that you may not be aware of.

For Centuries, sweet and innocent, precious little baby angel girls have read and dreamed of meeting , falling head over heels in love, and marrying their handsome Prince!  From Cinderella to Snow White, these sweet haunting dreams grew and grew.  Then one day, they meet that handsome Prince they had waited for all their lives, and were married, to live happily ever after.

But, in all the glory of courting, dating, marriage proposals, wedding preparations, and finally the wedding and honeymoon, did they get to do the one thing that they had so pined for and their heart yearned and dreamed of?

John Q. Hammons has a service that many may not be aware of.  That is, the opportunities to take a grand, Horse Drawn Carriage ride through the stately and majestic properties of John Q. Hammons.  Imagine, that special someone dressed to the nines, in their finest jewels, designer clothes, expensive perfume, and to top off an evening of elegant wining and dining, to be lead outside of this palace like establishment, and be handed into their very own horse drawn carriage.  Of such quality that Queen Elizabeth would approve. For you to fulfill that special someone’s secret dream and wish, why I honestly do not know of anything that could even come close in comparison.

As you may well be able to tell, I must confess, I am a true blue, in the flesh, closet romantic at heart.  Many years ago, this is exactly what my spouse did for me. My heart be still, I would have never admitted to a soul that I dreamed of being Cinderella, and getting to climb into a horse drawn carriage, with my handsome Prince sitting beside me, languorously riding through cobbled streets and seeing the city slowly slide by.  But, someone saw that dream mirrored in my eyes, in my soul, and fulfilled that precious hidden dream.  To this day, it is one of those memories that I will be sharing with my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and the story will be told for many generations after.

Happy Valentine’s Day has become so commercialized, as has all the Holidays, that sometime I believe we forget that the flowers will wilt and fade, the food and wine will be consumed and gone, the chocolate will be ate, and will cause many a guilty conscious or back slide from a healthy life style change, but memories, truly unique and one of kind memories, will live on long after we are gone.  As I predicted, my children beg to hear mine and my husband’s story of that Special and Unique Valentine’s Day.  That creative, impulsive, unique idea that he had will live in memories and be shared for generations to come.

Things that make you go Hhhhmmm…until next time on this edition of Springfield Spa and Beauty…Make it a Memorable and the Most Special and Romantic Valentine ever.

Happy Valentine’s Everyone!
