Could the Wii U be receiving 2 Assassin's Creed games this year?

Assassin's Creed III, the third game in the Assassin's Creed series developed by Ubisoft Montreal, was released as a launch title for the Wii U in November 2012. On February 28, Ubisoft unveiled Assassin's Creed IV which will be released for the Wii U, Playstation and Xbox consoles. Again, on March 7th, Ubisoft teased Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix.

If 'Rising Phoenix' is another Wii U title to be released this year, this will be the third 'Creed' game for Nintendo's new console in it's first 12 months. Seeing that Watch Dogs is also coming to the Wii U as well as a new Rayman game, Ubisoft has been one of the Wii U's best supporters so far. Ubisoft also developed ZombiU which was a Wii U exclusive.

It seems that if 'Rising Phoenix' is indeed a game, it would be developed by a seperate team at Ubisoft. If it isn't a game, it could possibly be a mobile game or a feature film based on the series. If it's true that we will be receiving 2 'Creed' games this year, they could both be related to one another. It's also extremely possible that 'Rising Phoenix' is the name for DLC for 'Creed IV' which doesn't seem to be the case.

2013 is turning out to be an incredible year for the Wii U as Ubisoft is releasing a wide variety of games for the system. Even if 'Rising Phoenix' isn't even a new game, the amount of Ubisoft games we'll be receiving is still more than enough. More details can be expected later this year about future Ubisoft releases.
