All aboard the hype train! Earlier this week, Gabe Newell addresses the possibility of Valve produced gaming hardware. Being the master of vagueness, he didn't say much outside of it being Linux based and that it would make current "next gen" hardware archaic. In true Valve fashion, not much else was said... until today.
As of noon Eastern Time, Valve has officially posted up a "living room" teaser site, presumably for their much anticipated entry into the hardware scene:
"The Steam Universe is Expanding in 2014."
"Last year, we shipped a software feature called Big Picture, a user-interface tailored for televisions and gamepads. This year we've been working on even more way to connect the dots for customers who want Steam in the living-room. Soon, we'll be adding you to our design process, so that you can help us shape the future of Steam."
Get hyped, people, as it looks like Valve may finally be giving us what we want. With three announcements next week, and a countdown timer indicating Monday as the start for said announcements, it may be just a matter of time. Now, I wonder what a proper lunch title could be...
