Cougars enter Holiday break one game below .500

The 2012-2013 Colorado Christian University Men’s basketball team is off to a 6-7 overall record and 1-4 mark in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The Cougars started the regular season on November 9th in Alaska at the AT&T ALASCOM Jamboree. CCU’s last game before taking a break for the Holiday’s was December 15th.

Before the break, CCU posted a win against the University of Alaska Fairbanks 72-63 in the AT&T ALASCOM Jamboree. The Cougars lost to the University of Alaska Anchorage 56-66 in the jamboree.

In the GCI Alaska Invitational, CCU beat Oklahoma Panhandle State University 70-54, lost to California State University Monterey Bay 58-78 and lost to Alaska Fairbanks 72-85.

The Cougars returned home to host their CCU Thanksgiving Tournament and opened with a win over Johnson & Wales University by a score of 81-55. The Cougars followed up with a 57-52 win over Bethany College of Kansas to wrap up the tournament win.

A 71-70 win over Northern New Mexico College was followed by three straight losses to New Mexico Highlands University (81-87), Western New Mexico University (63-72) and Black Hills State University South Dakota (68-72).

The Cougars got back on the winning track with a win against Chadron State College by a score of 79-65. The last game before the break saw CCU fall to Colorado School of Mines 69-71.
Next up for the Cougars is a January 4th road game versus Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
