For some things, there is just no classy way to say it. Jennifer Cogdill, 34, and Soldier Justin Moore, 25, (no rank listed) of Fort Campbell, were caught having sexual intercourse on someone’s front lawn about 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning. It’s pretty safe to say, that when things started happening neither Cogdill nor Moore thought their names and faces would end up on the front page of the Tennessean; or for that matter, on the worldwide web.

Reportedly the incident took place in the 100 block of Hiter Street in Clarksville, Tenn., an address that didn’t belong to either of the parties. Authorities were alerted to the activity by a disgusted passerby.

Blue lights flashing, a lone police officer responded to the call, most likely trying to keep a straight face when he exited his patrol car at the scene. The officer confirmed the couple was indeed copulating. His report included the unseemly details also stating both parties admitted to being “very drunk”; they smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech.

Jennifer Cogdill gave an address on Memorial Drive in Clarksville, while Justin Moore listed his home as the U.S. Army post at Fort Campbell.

Built in 1941, Fort Campbell is a sprawling Army base located in both Tennessee and Kentucky and is home to the 101st Airborne Division, “Screaming Eagles” and the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR).

Both the Fort Campbell Soldier and Cogdill were arrested and charged with indecent exposure and public intoxication. They were booked into the Montgomery County Jail with bond set at $1500 apiece. On the upside, by having sex in the front yard, neither Moore nor Cogdill were arrested for drinking and driving.
