From Sin City to the Saint City - Washington City is attached at the hip to Saint George, Utah. If you visit one you'll probably find something you need next door. St. George folks have to venture into the Washington city limits to stock up at Costco and Washington City folks have to drive through St. George to visit the fabulous Snow Canyon State Park as well as the other amenities offered by St. George.

Cotton Days in Washington City is all about history, fun and exciting events. It all starts with a 5K run on Saturday, April 26th at 7 a.m. Following close on the heels of the run is the Cotton Days Parade at 9 a.m. In the midst of all the fun from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. the Lions Club will be hosting a breakfast of Ham, Eggs & Pancakes.

The Cotton Fest from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. will offer vendor booths, food booths, children's games, bounce houses and live entertainment. Also starting at 9 a.m. will be the free Cotton Days Car Show with new, classic and vintage autos.

What should provide some of the most fun will be the Cotton Days Tractor Pull beginning at 11 a.m. If you want to actually compete in something besides the 5K run you might get some friends together and enter the Cotton Days Family Softball Tournament. There is no fee and you don't even have to have a team. Just sign up and you will be placed on a team - a great way to meet some of the Washington City locals. The tournament begins at 2 p.m.

To round off the day plan on attending a Movie in the Park at 8:30 for a night out watching Disney's Frozen.

Stick around another day and visit beautiful Snow Canyon on the northwestern edge of St. George then come back to the Washington City Historical Society's presentation of "A Trail Through Time" to learn about the fascinating history of the area - just be at the Historical Museum at 25 E. Main Street by 5 p.m.

Go on the website to learn about more Cotton Days events the following week, including an Ice Cream Social, Barrel Racing, a Junior Rodeo, a Fishing Derby, an all-night co-ed softball tournament and a chance to watch a portion of the 56 mile bike ride section of an Iron Man competition.
