Costco New Year's Day 2014: Will Costco be open or closed?

It is New Year's Eve as we put 2013 in the rear view mirror and welcome in 2014. Some folks are already planning on shopping in the New Year, but if you are a Costco shopper, you will have to wait a day.

International Business Times reported on Tuesday, Dec, 31, that all Costco stores will be closed on New Year's Day 2014. That is not surprising. Costco stores are closed during major holidays including Christmas, Thanksgiving and July 4.

Costco New Year's Eve hours

Costco warehouse stores will also close a little early on New Year's Eve. Stores will close at 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve.

Bucking the trend

Costco has bucked the trend of other stores that are opening through the holidays. But undoubtedly, Costco is under some pressure to open during the holidays.

But once again, Costco will not be open on New Year’s Day and will close early on New Year’s Eve. All Costco stores will be closed on New Year’s Day 2014.
