For the first time in the Americas, the urban extreme sports festival know by the French acronym FISE Festival International Sport Extreme was held February 2nd to 5th in Costa Rica. Autodromo La Guácima, located in Alajuela, Costa Rica in the central valley, was the scene of the four days of competition. Historically this has been the biggest European Pro Freestyle Contest for both professional and amateur athletes from all over the world.
The Costa Rica FISE featured: skateboarding, wakeboarding, freestyle motocross, bmx park, bmx flat, dirt bmx and freestyle mountain biking. These sports were on display from 8 am to 6 pm. Over 1,000 amateur and professional athletes from around the world were featured.
When the sun went down, and the sports ended for the day, the music began. National and international bands performed at no additional cost until 10:00 p.m.
In order to promote the development of urban extreme sports in the country, FISE has decided to host this festival yearly in Costa Rica.
