This year, I'm planning to de-stress before the holiday frenzy. The average American spends about 42 hours a year on holiday activities according to a poll by Consumer Reports. If you are contemplating taking the kids to Costa Rica, I suggest beating the rush. Going prior to the holidays is one way to save on the most exclusive resorts.
In anticipation of the busy holiday frenzy, Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort is offering travelers a budget friendly pre-holiday retreat with its "Costa Rica Resort Credit Package"starting at $149 nightly, inclusive of a $100 resort credit.
Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and 1,100 acres of tropical rainforest, Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort boasts an ideal pre-holiday escape with luxurious oceanfront accommodations featuring stunning ocean, mountain and garden views. Guests can relax at the resort’s expansive outdoor horizon pool complete with a swim-up bar alongside the ocean and can book treatments at the signature Sibo Spa & Retreat. The resort is ideally located for stress releasing activities to the likes of zip lining, surfing, rainforest hiking and more. The "Costa Rica Resort Credit Package" can be booked online through November 30, 2013 or by calling 1-800-228-9290 and mentioning the promotion code “ZX0.”
Here's a tip for something fun to do with your family before you go:
The Costa Rica Tourism Board just announced goCostaRica, a new travel iPad® app created to allow travelers to explore Costa Rica through a selection of videos, photos and interactive maps. Users can also build their own Pre-cation video – a customizable pre-vacation film composed of footage captured by director Patrick Pierson – share it with friends via Facebook and discover the culture, nature, adventure and relaxation that await them in Costa Rica.
“Because there are so many rich experiences in Costa Rica – from the rainforest and Arenal Volcano to the butterfly garden and Manuel Antonio National Park – we’re lowering the barrier of entry for people who are curious about the country by giving them a preview of what’s possible,” said John Stapleton, EVP, Chief Creative Director, 22squared. “goCostaRica incorporates the authenticity of the country, and we hope it will encourage viewers to dream about and discover the vast beauty and diversity of Costa Rica."
Culled from 70 hours of footage and thousands of images, the content of goCostaRica gives users "the opportunity to connect with all the beauty, culture and sustainability of the country from anywhere in the world," added Ireth Rodriguez, Deputy Manager & Marketing Director, Costa Rica Tourism Board.
goCostaRica is available for free download in the iTunes® store.
