Defending champions, Honduras, and host of the tournament, Costa Rica, are heading for the final of the Copa Centroamericana 2013. The game will be played on Sunday in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Honduras defeated Belize, who had the chance to be the Cinderella story, 1-0, and Costa Rica defeated El Salvador, who scraped it into the semi-finals, with a lone goal by Rodney Wallace, who also plays in the MLS for the Portland Timbers.
This is the 12th edition of the tournament since it inaugurated in 1991. Since then, Costa Rica holds the most trophies of the tournament, six in total. The last time it won was in 2007.
Honduras follows in second place with the most trophies of the Copa Centroamericana. Honduras has three titles, and it will try to win it consecutively on Sunday’s final.
The tournament is also used for Central American natinoal teams to qualify for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The top five teams qualify, and this year they are Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Belize, and Panama.
