Engineers are trying to salvage what they can of the Costa Concordia. On Sept. 16, ABC News reported that they are using over 500 engineers to try to turn this ship upright so that it can be brought in to salvage. The ship crashed back in 2012. This happened 19 months ago and they are just now getting to turning it upright.
They have no idea if it is going to work or not, but they are trying all that they can to salvage part of this ship. The Costa Concordia operation could take a while and they are not sure how it will turn out in the end. After three hours, they did have it dislodged from the reef it crashed into which is a big start on the project.
A thunderstorm in the area did delay the start of trying to salvage the Costa Concordia. It is still unknown if they are going to be able to pull this all together and bring it in. It would be great if they can accomplish it.
