Cosplay Spotlight: Lady Lemon (Photos)

For those fanboys/girls unaware, costume play (cosplay) is a type of performance art where participants wear costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea, often interacting to create a subculture centered on role play. Many of the favorite sources of cosplayers include manga and anime, comic books, video games and films. This has led to a growth in the number of people picking up cosplay as a hobby since 1990 and has made the phenomenon influential in popular culture today. One of these cosplayers is Lilia Lemoine, a.k.a. Lady Lemon and she’s been doing cosplay for almost two years now. Lilia’s first cosplay was in 2007 but since then, Lilia has studied 3 years special effects so she’s been able to advance her ideas and work as a cosplayer. Lilia was born in Argentina where she still lives today and she’s a presenter, where she presents videogames online at, La Nacion which is the second largest newspaper in Argentina. She has also done some work as an actress in short films, Indy movies and music videos. Lilia is a huge fan of anime and videogames so that particular type of genre of cosplay is what she showcases more, but she’s also done some other work like Wonder Woman, Black Cat and Psylocke.

One of her personal favorite cosplay’s she’s done is Demon Hunter from Diablo III and when she can, Lilia takes her costumes to events to show them off, but prefers to just do a photo shoot. As for whether or not she’s done cosplay at the San Diego Comic-Con, Lilia said, “Not yet, but after posting my pictures on the site of Kotobukiya, they said I could join them in their booth. So I’d love to travel! For sure I’ll be visiting Los Angeles in June this year for a convention.” Some of her upcoming projects in the near future and already in production are Dark Phoenix, Haruka (Sailor Moon), Edward Elric (Full Metal Alchemist), Lara Croft (newer version), Elena (Uncharted Series), Sheryl Nome (black swimsuit), Psylocke (Uncanny X-Force costume), as well as some new releases of old cosplays like Shaina, Hyoga and Black Cat. “In 2 or 3 months I’ll start with some armor: Lightening from Final Fantasy and Demon Hunter Tier 4 from Diablo III. Of course this could change if I get enthusiastic by something else,” Says Lilia. So if you’re a fan, you may see more of Lilia popping up with new costumes and ideas, but until then, you can check some of her designs by clicking here or at worldcosplay.net.
