NEW ORLEANS: On Friday, October 21, 2011, three local New Orleans Women Business Owners will come together to host an evening of flirty pink cocktails, pampering massages and makeovers, fashion, light, glitz and glamour. The 3rd Annual "Cosmos for a Cure" is a night for ladies of New Orleans to come out and have a great time to network, unwind and raise money for a worthy cause!
Nina Bellard, Letitia Clark George and Mynnye Shaw came together a few years ago just wanting to host an event during October to help raise awareness of breast cancer in their community. Nina is the owner of Plush Party Events a premier party planning firm. Letitia is the owner of B Beauty Bar, a mineral makeup line designed for women of color and Mynnye is the owner of Mynnye's Chocolates a exclusive confectionery for all occasions. What seemed like a great way to give back while promoting their businesses, has evolved into a major philanthropic effort connecting women and businesses all around the metropolitan New Orleans area.
With over 50 sponsors this year, the hosts, Nina, Letitia and Mynne, say this will be the best year yet. TWIST Cocktails will be the venue of the big event this year with CIROC being the main sponsor for the signature Cosmo cocktail. Dozens of sponsors have donated silent auction prizes ranging from Pink Limo Rides to Pampering Spa Packages.
There will be no shortage of fun and fashion at this event. Johnny Wah Exclusive Shoe Boutique will have a raffle for a $600 pair of shoes out of their boutique and the fashion show will be styled by Hemline.
Every guest who is a breast cancer survivors will enjoy the most premier pampering experience out of all the guests. Each will have a special photo session with the professional photographer on site. Survivors will also have an opportunity to model some of the fashions and will have the floor to give personal testimonies of their experience and recovery.

Nina, Letitia and Mynnye made a great effort to incorporate Susan G. Komen in their event this year. The local New Orleans Affiliate of the foundation agreed to have "Cosmos for a Cure" as a sign up venue and official pre-party of the 15th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure. The three hosts assembled a "Cosmos for a Cure" team and will be participating in the race early the next morning after their event.
The ladies have committed to raising $5,000 and hope to achieve that goal.
