1953 Corvette started the "cult of Corvettes"
More than 5,000 of America's only true sports car will roll into Bowling Green Kentucky for the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the National Corvette Museum.
Hotel rooms are still available on a limited basis said Wendell Strode executive director for the museum.
A caravan of Corvettes will roll into Bowling Green over Laor day weekend. A similar caravan drew thousands of Corvettes of every model year, body style and color during the Grand Opening of the National Corvette museum.
It is expected that this Corvette Caravan will draw even more than the original because of returning particpants in the original added to first timers.
The museum recently had a ribbon cutting for it's expansion featuring a conference center, archives, and Corvette Cafe.
Museum Director Wendell Strode said
“We’ve gotten nothing but positive response from the visitors. Even our members and enthusiasts who followed the expansion on our Webcam say it is even more astounding and impactful in person.”
Bowling Green has been the home of the Corvette since a dedicated plant was built for the iconic American sports car. The National Corvette Museum is located across from the assembly plant.
