Corvette ZR1 Loses to FA 18 Fighter of Blue Angels
The Corvette ZR1was no match in a race with a FA 18 Blue Angels Fighter. 628 horsepower up against 32000 pounds of afterburner thrust over a mile runway, just didn't have a chance. The Corvette was blown off the runway at about 80 mph, barely getting rolling. Motor Trend tried to make this dramatic, so the action in the video starts about 8 minutes in. If you want to hear all the "set up" to the mismatch of the century, start at the beginning. $110,000 Corvette ZR1 against an $25,000,000 FA 18 Blue Angels fighter? Nice publicity stunt, but who gains in this deal? The Navy? GM? Corvette?

Would have been better had they put it up against the Ferrari, the Lamborghini and the Porsche..........
@Nestor: Agreed. Since it's a publicity stunt, put it against a tank, or military Hummer, or whatever ground vehicles the Navy has??? :)
