Despite the Corvette having the right of way, a sixteen year old driver blew a red light while the Corvette was crossing the intersection and wrecked into the innocent C5. Wrecks like this occur all the time, and it's not because of the driver's age but the driver's attention span. According to the YouTube description, the sixteen year old made a statement to police that he was looking to the left and not paying attention. I personally don't know how he missed an intersection full of stopped cars, but I guess if you're not paying attention anything is possible.

Today's distractions to the modern driver have increased ten fold or more from the time the automobile first hit the road. Back then, there wasn't cell phones, fancy radios with GUI, GPS systems with vast databases, or as much traffic on the road. Today's roadways are very challenging let alone being bothered by these external devices. That being said, it's also possible to multitask to a certain degree and give the driver a feeling of accomplishment once these devices are mastered along side of navigating modern roadways. Don't let this fool you, as shown below even the slightest distraction can lead to epic failure even if you feel you have mastered your technology. So in effort to keep others safe and pieces of automotive history on the road, let's all make an effort to focus on driving instead of ancillary devices.
