Corvette vs Ferrari

Which one will win in this interstate race? The ferrari, or the corvette? It's a fun video to watch these two supercars chase each other down the highway. Several races occur like this, and some are fortunate enough to be caught on tape for us to see! Corvette is known for performance, but Ferrari is known for prestige. Which will win? It's hard to tell from the specs, but it looks like the Corvette should win.

Ferrari has rich heritage of track racing, while Corvette is known for dominating the drag strip. Watching this video, you can see the Corvette's dominance in a straight line. You cannot substitute for cubic inch, and this race proves that theory again. Just as the Corvette starts to gain, traffic pops up and makes the race interesting. Before we go off to the track, Let's take a look at what counts.

2007 Chevrolet Corvette

  • 6 liter v-8 engine
  • Rear wheel drive
  • 400 hp
  • 400 tq
  • 0-60: 4.2s
  • Top speed: 186 mph

2007 Ferrari 360

  • 3.6 liter v-8 engine
  • 400 hp
  • 275 tq
  • Top speed: 180mph
  • 0-60: 4.5s

The best bang for your buck in the quarter mile is not what you think. It's not the traditional high priced exotic. Take into consideration the all-wheel drive models offered by Subaru and Mitsubishi. Two sedans, the Lancer Evolution and Impreza WRX-STi can be heavily modified to win races against the Ferrari and the Vette; for a fraction of the cost by running a record setting 7 second quarter mile. Read more about modifying imports to get exotic speed. Let's take a look at the race footage and then comment below your thoughts.

The Corvette is a great car for the money and sounds sweet too, but considering the vast difference in engine size the Ferrari is the true thoroughbred racer. To make this comparison more equitable, the Vette should have been racing with a V12 Ferrari that has at least 5 litres of engine displacement. Something like a 550 or 599 or even an F40, F50 or Enzo would have been a fairer duel. Nice video though and thanks for sharing.
