New Phyrexia's take on the traditional Counterspell is even easier to cast than the powerful Magic: The Gathering classic - as long as you've been able to land a point of poison on your opponent.
Corrupted Resolve
1U
Instant - Uncommon
Counter target spell if its controller is poisoned.
Corrupted Resolve should fit right into a permission/control blue/black strategy, and is remarkably easy to fire off at just 1U.
Of course, you'll have to hope to land an early Virulent Wound or sneak through with a Blighted Agent or Phyrexian Crusader to ensure your countermagic is online.
As a constructed card, Corrupted Resolve may have potential in decks that aren't really "infect based" - decks that revolve around a few solid sources of infect and plenty of control, as opposed to aggressive "all in" infect decks that seek to best an opponent in just one or two strikes.
In Limited, it's actually not that difficult to land a point of infection on your opponent, and Corrupted Resolve will flesh out a much more robust B/U controlfect archetype that was lacking quite a few tools before the introduction of the New Phyrexia pack to Scars of Mirrodin block draft.
A solid uncommon to back up great fliers, evasive infect creatures, and three uncommon theft spells spanning two colors (Volition Reins, Corrupted Conscience, and Enslave) , Corrupted Resolve fills up deck space quite nicely and provides a very accessible counterspell.
