In late December I reported a tiered poker tournament qualification process that eventually would enable the top 2 players to earn seats into the $500,000 Guarenteed Hollywood Poker Open Championship to be held June 28-30 at the M Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada. I reported that a series of three tournaments would be held at Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway January 25-27. I recently learned that my announcement was errant. While local and regional events are scheduled for Penn National Gaming properties around the country, Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway is only having a local event and not the series of three tournaments as I had reported.
Players can still qualify for a local tournament to be held May 12, 2013. As I reported in my previous article each month, from December 1, 2012, through April 30, 2013, the top 20 players that log the most rated hours playing cash games will qualify for the 100-player final event. The top 8 finishers of the May 12 final event on will each win a Hollywood Poker Open prize package that will include $1,500 in cash for hotel and travel expenses and a $2,500 seat into the Hollywood Poker Open Championship Event.
