Two teenage boys have been arrested in the alleged Corono-Norco school rape that happened last week. A second alleged victim has also come forward, according to KABC on Oct. 2.
A female student was allegedly sexually assaulted in a high school restroom after school last week at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale, Calif. The victim is said to be a freshman. The two teens arrested are a junior on the football team and a sophomore who was recently expelled for a separate issue. The two boys are 15 and 16. Now another victim has come forward, and her brother says they immediately contacted school police about the assault on Sept. 18, but there seemingly was no follow-up.
The second victim's brother says the junior football player accused in the other case was involved in his sister's assault as well. He is disappointed that the school didn't seem to take serious, immediate action on their case, which then may have prevented the new incident that occurred last Wednesday. The new allegations are now under investigation by the police.
The Corona-Norco Unified School District has not commented to KABC about the second victim's incident. Regarding the recent assault, they say “This is an isolated incident” and they are “working with our students to remind them of the importance of safe behaviors.” The brother of the one victim says it was not an isolated incident, and they are speaking out in hopes other potential victims will come forward as well.
While it seems there is some uncertainty about exactly what happened in the alleged Corono-Norco school rape, everyone would surely agree that it is time for the police to be involved and get to the bottom of the situation.
