Corning to reveal Gorilla Glass 3 and optical cables at CES 2013

Corning today announced its plans for this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2013), as the company will be introducing two new products.

First up will be Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which they say will featuring enhanced durability using a new glass composition.

In addition, Corning will be introducing new fiber-based optical cables. Their CES booth (#14813 at Central Hall) will showcase Gorilla Glass 3 on large formats using multi-touch displays that are aimed at use for education and entertainment applications. heir benefits for today’s consumer electronics device trends.

“This year at CES, Corning will demonstrate its industry leadership in specialty glass and fiber optic technologies with the introduction of two products designed to enhance and extend the capabilities of consumers’ favorite devices,” said Wendell P. Weeks, chairman, chief executive officer, and president. “These new innovations build on the increasingly important and continually evolving role of highly engineered glass technologies in delivering improved product performance and functionality through touch capabilities, protective cover glass, and device connectivity.”

The announcements are planned to take place on Jan. 7.
