Manchester Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Shawn’s Corner Market, located at 912 Somerville Street on Monday, January 28.
According to a press release by the Manchester Police Department, officers responded to Shawn’s at approximately 9:45 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the 23-year-old clerk who told them an unknown man with a long-barreled gun had just robbed the store. The clerk, reported that the man entered the store and pointed what he believed was a shotgun at him.
The suspect demanded money from the register and then a carton of Newport cigarettes. The clerk complied and the suspect, described as a white male in his thirties, fled the store on foot.
The clerk described the suspect further as being about 5’9” tall with a medium build. He was wearing a blue “Polo” hooded sweatshirt with thick white draw strings on the hood, dark pants and dark shoes. He also wore a black ski mask and black gloves with a “snowflake pattern on them.
A K-9 tracked the suspect from the store, east on Somerville Street and north onto Cypress Street where police believe the suspect entered a parked vehicle and fled the area.
