During the show, Leah Calvert revealed to Dr. Drew that Corey had cheated on his now-wife, Miranda, sometime before they got married. According to Leah, Corey had disclosed the information to her just before he and Miranda tied the knot in June of last year.
"A week before he got married he kept texting me and texting me, and he's like 'I miss my family,'" Leah told Dr. Drew, according to an April 17 report by Wetpaint Entertainment. "He told me way too much stuff about him and Miranda [Patterson]… When him and Miranda got together first thing he was out cheating on her."
Following the episode, Corey and Miranda went on damage control, tweeting to fans in an attempt at setting the record straight.
"Don’t believe everything you hear," Miranda wrote to fans in one tweet, according to an April 17 publication on Starcasm. She also retweeted a message which read, "There will always be rumors and gossip. Pay them no mind."
Corey added, “Opinions are like butt holes…….everyone has one……”
Since Leah seemed to firm in her statement to Dr. Drew, it was odd to see Corey and Miranda so clearly denying what she had said. Would Leah really make something so horrible up? What would she have to gain by doing so? Perhaps if she was still in love with Corey it would make sense that she would want to split them up, but since she is married, that appears unlikely.
So, what is Leah saying about her comments now? According to a tweet, she seems to be denying them all together.
"There has to be some kind of context behind something someone says," she explained to fans, following the episode. "With that being said look up the word editing."
While blaming editing would be an easy out in most cases, the words "When him and Miranda got together first thing he was out cheating on her" came out of Leah's mouth, so unfortunately for her, that excuse is completely invalid.
