Corey Haim's family is receiving some help from an unexpected place. According to a new story by Us Magazine, celebrity memorabilia web site Startifacts has agreed to donate $20,000 to help the family of the former film and TV star transport the body to Toronto and have a burial. This news comes after the family made an announcement that they were actively seeking donations from fans to help pay for some of the costs.

Haim passed away on Wednesday due what are still murky circumstances. Though pulmonary congestion and an enlarged heart are believed to be factors in the sudden death, a toxicology screening is still being performed and it could take a number of weeks before the results are in.

Why does the Haim family need so much help? According to friend Corey Feldman, Haim had accumulated over $200,000 in debts and was apparently so poor that he couldn't even afford a car. He was living with his mother (who was battling cancer) in a housing complex in Los Angeles at the time of his death.

Are you happy that somebody has stepped in to help pay for Corey Haim's funeral? Let me know your thoughts with a comment and stay tuned for more of the latest news.

I'm glad that someone with big bucks step in to help Corey and his family. Just because he had an addiction problem doesn’t mean he isn't worth it. Look at the contributions he has left us through the years! Lets give this guy a peaceful salute and may god bless his soul.
