When Gospel artist, Corey Barksdale penned his new song "Persona", he made the decision speak on his challenges with authenticity and how they pushed him to seek out who God crafted him to be in life. These challenges began early in Barksdales life, as he attempted to pursue several passions and wanting to please those close to him. "Being held at a certain standard, challenged me with being normal and being myself. I felt like it was important for me to be what others wanted me to be or someone I was not" says Barksdale.
The road to connecting to God's plan has not been easy for Barksdale, but today he stands confident in who he is and excited about encouraging others to be whom God created them to be. "Persona" is the fruit of Barksdale's testimony and the song's theme and lyrics are encouraging listeners and supporters in several states across the country. Tonight, July 10th, Barksdale will have the opportunity to sing "Persona" during the 21st Annual Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International Conference at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA. This year, the Full Gospel Church Fellowship International Conference will be celebrating Legacy, pursuing Destiny and focusing on Integrity with Presiding Bishop Paul S. Morton Sr., Presiding Bishop-Elect Joseph Walker III and several other leaders.
Barksdale is honored and grateful for the opportunity to share "Persona", which will be followed by a powerful message of identity delivered by Artist, Songwriter and Speaker, Lisa McClendon. Immediately following the conference, Barksdale will travel to Norcross, GA to perform "Persona" and more music during the Live TV Taping on the WATC TV-57 flagship show Atlanta Live at 7pm.
