The Burbank International Film Festival welcomes the amazing star of stage screen and television Corbin Bleu to the festival team 2011. Corbin is the celebrity judge of the music video division of this year’s festival and will be on hand during the festival in mid September. It would be hard to imagine anyone more qualified and more exciting.
Corbin Bleu began acting and dancing back in his native Brooklyn, New York at age 2. By the time he was but 6 years old Corbin had his first professional off Broadway stage experience in “Tiny Tim is Dead.”
By 1996 Corbin move to Los Angeles and went right to work with a recurring role in the TV series “High Incident.” But there he was in “Hollywood” after all so soon came roles in feature films. “Soldier” 1998, “Mystery Man” and “Galaxy Quest” both in 1999. Corbin Bleu was accepted into the prestigious Los Angeles County High School for the Arts which shares a campus with the California State University, Los Angeles. During his freshman year Corbin got the lead role in “Catch that Kid.” That was in 2004.
But Corbin’s “overnight” success happened in 2006 when he co-starred in the highly successful Disney Channel Original Movie “High School Musical.” He loved that movie because it gave him a chance to do what he loves most, to sing and dance. So he was no doubt thrilled to join the Broadway cast of the sensational musical “In The Heights” in the lead role of Usnavi. 96K of delight.
Corbin is back in Los Angeles where amongst his many projects and activities he will appear on stage at the Hollywood Bowl in “Hairspray” August 5th through 7th.
Proving that he is a true red blooded American male Corbin is a big fan of Angelina Jolie while remaining BFF with Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens. Oh boy!
The Burbank International Film Festival is thrilled to have Corbin Bleu’s participation and is certain that his association can only further increase the energy and excitement of this year’s festival which runs from September 15th through the 18th.
