Ceviche with octopus and shrimp at Corazon del Mar
Corazon del Mar is a lively, informal restaurant with a raw bar as well as a full menu of tacos, tostadas and carnitas on Water Street. Founded last year by Chef Seth Raynor it is already a solid hit: a colorful place with great seafood. Raynor explained that he spends some of the off-season surfing and found that he was increasingly preparing the foods of Costa Rica and Mexico when he returned.
Finally the Raynors decided to open their third restaurant, Corazon del Mar (which means Heart of the Sea) featuring the great seafood cooking of the Spanish speaking areas they visit on their surfing expeditions. Raynor explained that each restaurant followed from the previous one. The Pearl followed from their highly popular Boarding House, and Corazon del Mar from The Pearl.
When you walk into the restaurant, you will find a raw bar right by the entrance, but there are colorful tables on two floors where you can order tapas, ceviche and the various delicious fish tacos and tostados on the menu, as well as pork carnitas. They provide 3 kinds of oysters: Barstable, Marshfield and Maine harvested, each with a unique taste, and served with one or more sauces alongside.

Corazon del Mar is a unique Nantucket experience and worth a visit the next time you come to the island.
