The Coral Gables Community Foundation will host the fifth annual Tour of Kitchens on Saturday, January 25th 2014. This event, which was sold out last year, features six of Coral Gables finest private home kitchens, as well as an opening and closing event.
The opening event begins at Snaidero Kitchens and Design showroom (4110 Ponce de Leon Boulevard) at 9 a.m, where tickets will be available for purchase if they have not already been sold out. At this location, tour goers will receive a program, complete with a map of the houses for the self guided tour.
Fresh coffee, mimosas and a continental breakfast will be offered inside, as well as interesting kitchen demos and lectures until 10 a.m. The last time to arrive at this location and pick up a program will be 12 p.m.
Bike Walk Coral Gables will be partnering with the Coral Gables Community Foundation again this year for those who wish to bike the tour. Visit facebook.com/BikeWalkCoralGables for more details.
At 10 a.m. the fun begins, as tour goers enter the showcased homes to view the kitchens. Each home will offer bite sized food samples from exceptional Coral Gables restaurants. Some of the restaurants included on the tour this year are Bottega la Dolce Vita Italian market, Bricktops, Route 9, Talavera, Tarpon Bend and Swine.
Inside the homes, there will be stunning table settings as well as special food merchandise and home goods available for purchase. The last time to enter the homes will be approximately 2 p.m.
The closing event, from 2 to 4 p.m. will be at Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery (4119 Ponce de Leon Boulevard). It will feature champagne, refreshments and an array of bite sized desserts.
Tickets are available for purchase at coralgablestourofkitchen.com for $60 per person, or $70 (cash only) the day of the event at Snaidero. These tickets include all food, beverages and events taking place on the tour.
2014 Chair Herbert Brito, encourages anyone with an interest in beautiful houses, stunning kitchens and good food, to come out and join the fun.
Proceeds will benefit the Coral Gables Community Foundation, a 22 year old nonprofit organization whose goal is to raise funds to improve the lives of those who live, work and study in the City Beautiful. The Coral Gables Senior High School Culinary students are one of the recipients of funds raised for this event.
