A Wyandanch man was arrested Saturday on multiple drug charges after he was allegedly found rolling a marijuana cigarette in a Bethpage parking lot with his two young children in the backseat of the car, Nassau County police said.
Donail Campbell, 21, of Nicolls Road, is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 1 at First District Court in Hempstead after being charged with third-degree and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
According to police, officers were conducting a narcotics investigation in Bethpage on Saturday afternoon, when they reportedly spotted Campbell parked in a 2003 Cadillac and making a marijuana cigarette.
As officers approached the car in the rear parking lot at 320 Broadway, they found Campbell’s girlfriend in the front passenger seat and his children – ages 3 and 1 – in the backseat.
Cops arrested Campbell and found him to be in possession of marijuana, crack cocaine and $1,329 in cash, a news release said.
His girlfriend and children were released at the police station.
