Long Island, NY - Police said Thursday they are now expanding the search area related to the Craigslist Long Island serial killer to include the southern part of Wantagh State Parkway.
Nassau County Police, New York State Police, New York State Environmental Police and New York State Park Police will scour the brush between Merrick Road and Jones Beach State Park beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday.
So far, ten sets of remains have been discovered on Gilgo Beach and Jones Beach, four of which have been identified as females who used Craigslist for prostitution services.
The discovery of the bodies occurred while investigators were searching for missing New Jersey woman, Shannan Gilbert, 24. As the four slain women identified, she also used Craigslist to advertise sexual services. Shannan has not yet been found and was not among the remains discovered.
Medical examiners continue to try to identify the six yet unidentified set of remains.
